About Me

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with prescribing privileges. I have worked in the area of mental health for over 25 years and have diverse experience with people from all backgrounds and stories. Before becoming a nurse, I worked in community mental health. This experience led me to pursue my masters in Clinical Psychology. My time interning at a behavioral health hospital inspired me to become a nurse as I witnessed the bond between nurse and patient and how it changed the lives of others.

In my work as a psychiatric registered nurse (RN), I worked in a variety of inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health hospitals providing care for a wide variety of patients with myriad mental health challenges, diagnoses and symptoms.  From there, I pursued my psychiatric nurse practitioner degree with the goal of creating more long lasting change in the lives of those I serve. I have worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for over 6 years and the experience of this work has far exceeded my already high expectations. I love building relationships and growing alongside my patients as we work together for meaningful change.

I consider myself a lifelong learner and have a passion for growing my understanding of holistic psychiatry and other mental health topics. I am also interested in the intersection of science and spirituality, knowing that practices that have been around for thousands of years, like mindfulness, breathwork and meditation are strongly backed by modern science.

On a typical day, you can find me reading, meditating, working with patients and spending time with my family, including my husband, daughter and 2 dogs. I am a lover of great food and have a passion for finding and cooking new recipes. I love local food and ingredients and you will likely find me at the farmers market or one of the many great local Nashville food markets on the weekends.

I hope to hear from you soon. I would love to work with you toward your goals.
